Sigurd Wettenhovi-Aspa

Georg Sigurd Wettenhovi-Aspa (born. Wetterhoff-Asp, 7 May 1870, Helsinki – 18 February 1946) was a Finnish artist and amateur egyptologist. He is best known for his fantastic theories of the past of the Finnish people. Some consider him a late practitioner of Gothicismus.
His parents were ''Georg August Asp'' (1834—1901), professor of anatomy at the University of Helsinki and ''Mathilda Sofia Wetterhoff'' (1840—1920), developer of female gymnastics.
Wettenhovi-Aspa studied art in Copenhagen in the ''klg. Akademiet for de Skønne Kunster'' and the ''Kröyer Academy'' 1888-1891.〔(Suomen kuvataiteilijat - WETTENHOVI-ASPA (ent. Wetterhoff-Asp) Georg SIGURD - ryhmänäyttelyt )〕 He also organized several art shows known as the Free Exhibitions.
